Shooter's Bar
wood, blown glass, metal, carved granite, commercial glass, paint, electric components, glassware
approx. 12 X 16 X 8 ft

GALA transformed the entire bar into a pictoral history of alchohol and consumption in the United States. There's more than 70 indivdual bottle lables plus hand-blown glass decanters, pictures and nick-nacks—and they're all inspired by events in US history that were related to alcohol in one way or another.
Mosquito Brooch
silver, glass, steel
3.75 X 1.75 X 7.5 in.

The script called for Jane to stab Richard's corpse with a brooch: confirming that LA's answer to Rasputin was, indeed, deceased. Conceptually, GALA had infected Melrose Place with ideas much the same way a virus infects a cell.
To illustrate this connection, GALA proposed "Mosquito Brooch"—a reference to the Yellow Fever virus: an infectious disease the CDC's thinks will reach epidemic levels in the next 20 years.
Yellow Fever is spread by the Aedes Egypti mosquito.
Remember when Sam gave Jane her "grandmother's antique Egyptian brooch" to poke Richard's corpse? Coincidence? Definitely not.
